The Greedy Dog - Aesop Fables

One day a dog was very hungry and was desperately searching for some food. Finally he found a piece of bread. He wanted to enjoy his bread so he went into the forest to look for a quiet place.

On the way he had to cross a stream of water. As he was doing so, he saw his own reflection in the water. He thought that this reflection was another dog who also had a piece of bread in his mouth. He became greedy and wanted the other piece of bread too. Just as he opened his mouth to snatch the other piece of bread from the other dog, his piece of bread fell into the water. Thus because of his greed for more food, he lost the food that he had too.

MORAL: Greed for more never helps.
